IconICan Studio

If you are a Windows user, then you know that every program or shortcut must have an icon in order to be displayed on the screen. The problem is that some programs have really boring and dull icons, which can make them hard to find or access in case there are many icons on the desktop. That is why it's a good idea to change the icons of the programs from time to time, to give them a whole new look. But wouldn't it be better if you could create your own personalized icons? Windows doesn't offer you this possibility, but fortunately, there are several applications on the market which can create and edit icons. One of them is IconICan Studio.

This simple Windows program allows creating icons from scratch using various drawing tools and also editing existing icons. After installing and running the program, one will notice the intuitive interface which features some large buttons. Using them, the user can create a new icon or import an existing one from a wide range of file formats. EXE, ICO, CUR and many other formats are supported by IconICan Studio.

The program is compatible with any icon size, supporting even the newer icon types found in Windows 7 and Windows 8. After importing a desired icon, the user can start editing by using a large number of drawing tools, similar to the ones included in MS Paint. Text can also be added to an icon, for personalizing it even more. After finishing the editing process, one can save his work as an icon or cursor file, for replacing the default Windows cursor.

A feature that makes IconICan Studio different from other icon tools is the possibility to capture the desktop and use the snapshot as an icon file. This is useful, for example, if you want to use a part of a video as an icon.
